Inspired by a quote from Andy Warhol "I wonder if it's possible to have a love affair that lasts forever." MaryJ explores the enduring nature of cultural memory and mythology. While relationships may fade, the stories surrounding them often outlive the people themselves. Inspired by the lasting fascination with Marilyn Monroe and John F. Kennedy, this 30 × 40-inch drawing reflects on love, fame, and the ways history transforms personal moments into collective memory. The composition incorporates sunflowers inspired by Claude Monet's Bouquet of Sunflowers, creating a dialogue between historical fine art, popular culture, and collective memory. The work later evolved into a series of silkscreen prints.
