Balsa Wood Postcards: DUMBO, Brooklyn
Book Design | Editorial Design
This artist book and postcard collection was created through a personal exploration of DUMBO, Brooklyn, documented entirely on foot. Featuring original photographs taken throughout the neighborhood, the project captures the textures, architecture, and urban atmosphere of one of New York City's most distinctive districts. Constructed with balsa wood covers and designed as a series of detachable postcards, the book combines photography, mapping, and object-making to create a tactile experience of place and memory.
The reverse side of each postcard features a map of DUMBO, inviting viewers to navigate and rediscover the neighborhood through the lens of personal observation and exploration.
